R&D and Business Collaborations in Microbiota Research,

Probiotics, Health and Disease

As part of its worldwide microbiome series, Global Engage is pleased to announce the 2nd Microbiome R&D and Business Collaboration Congress: Asia which will be held on 29 February-1 March 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The field of metagenomics has allowed researchers to look into the diversity of the body’s microbiota with findings that the microbiome is a home for diversity, natural immunity, metabolism, behavioural traits, and plays an instrumental role in health and disease. With large-scale collaborative projects underway and sequencing data placed in the public domain, there is a rich source of information for researchers and companies looking for opportunities in this exciting field. With increasing signs that our microbiome may be the key not only for curative but preventative medicine, efforts are focusing on increasing investment opportunities, clinical trials and innovative research in this area. With an increasing focus on healthy living and a therapeutics market that is expected to grow to $1.2 trillion by 2016, microbial research can be developed in order to provide preventative treatments, cures, therapies and supplements for a worldwide audience in demand.

The conference, which is co-located with our Probiotics Congress, will bring together over 200 attendees, to explore the interface between our evolving cultures, technologies and our microbiome through a series of interactive presentations and panel discussions with leading academics and industry experts as well as venture capital investors and leading solution, service and technology providers. The Global Engage series is rapidly gaining a fantastic reputation for fostering partnerships across academia, pharma and biotech. If looking to either learn more from the top scientists in the microbiome space from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond; showcase exciting developments in your own research; or seeking partnerships and funding within the industry; it is a congress not to be missed.

The 2-day congress will examine a range of topics including:
  1. Host-microbe interactions
  2. Microbiome in health and disease
  3. Probiotics for disease treatment and management & probiotic product development
  4. Prebiotics, personalized nutrition, diet and the microbiome
  5. Pharmaceutical involvement and translational microbiome studies
  6. Bioinformatics and sequencing
  7. Skin, respiratory, vaginal and oral microbiota research and therapeutic development
